Good Morning!
Welcome to our Barcelona Itinerary – day 2 of 3! If you wanna get some tips from our day 1 adventures you can hop back a post here.
So to begin our second day, we headed right over the street from our hotel to grab a morning coffee from Roast Club before heading on a morning walk round the city. These guys really know they coffee so if you’re a coffee lover then definitely try it out! They have a takeout hatch and space to sit in too.

After a walk across the city, we stopped for brunch at Fame, where we ordered a GIANT empanada! We’d seen this spot during our research beforehand and I would now recommend to anyone else. This is more of a streetfood vibe – the store itself has lots of different flavour options and you just choose a slice from the counter. Kinda like a pizza place! They have plenty of choice and one is definitely big enough for two if you don’t wanna have something huge. We had the tuna option and it was 10/10.

Afternoon
After we’d filled our boots with empanada, we walked to the Sagrada Família. It was a little dreary so we didn’t stay for ages, but it was really cool to see and we wandered around it and got some snaps. There are some sections that you can go inside – these obviously come with a price! We were happy just seeing it from the outside, but we might go in when we go back next time. I did see that it was due to be finished this year (finally!) so it might be cool to visit once its complete.
After a little touristy stop, we realised we were overdue our first sangria of the day! We wanted to get out of the area of Sagrada Família, as it is a little more expensive and touristy here. We walked back towards the hotel and just found a cute local spot named Dora. Perfect for a well earned jug of sangria 🍷!
Barcelona is a really great city for just finding a spot to sit outside or in a window and watch the world go by. We sat in the window of Dora as it was still drizzling, and just spent a couple of hours chatting and noseying out the window, before heading back to our hotel to freshen up for the evening.

Dinner
Then it was obviously time for more tapas! We actually stumbled across (another) cute bar on the was named La Principal, so we stopped off for a quick drink on the way. Honestly there are soooo many cute spots that you can just stumble across in Barcelona. It’s really one of the places that I feel like you don’t need to do too much planning and can still find some incredible food and drink places. We also discovered the Moritz brewery which I really wanted to visit. Unfortunately we knew we didn’t have time to visit this time but it’s on the list for next time!
So let’s get onto one of the main highlights of the trip – El Xampanyet for dinner. It was definitely our favourite meal for sure. An amazing experience and a must visit IMO. I wrote about it a little more in this post. You can’t go wrong with food here – make sure you get a glass of xampanyet to accompany. Do not miss the pork and peppers!

After dinner we tried out the second site of our favourite Barcelona dive bar – Nevermind 🍻 we then went for some fancier drinks at Two Schmucks. UNREAL🍸 !!! Known on insta as the ‘5 star dive bar’ and number 7 in the world’s top 50 bars 2022, this place is basically me and Robbie in bar form. And (unsurprisingly), we ended our night at our OG fave Barca dive bar – Nevermind!
Let us know in the comments if you’ve tried any of these spots. See you for the final day!
