Barcelona Travel Itinerary – Day 3
For our third and final full day, we started with a wander in the city, with our plan of ending for an early lunch at Cañete. We’ve said this in another post, but just to remind you 🙂 we would 100% recommend. Book if you can as it does get super busy, otherwise get there early and join the queue. We found this spot online and it lived up to the hype. Really great food and a close second place to El Xampanyet. We asked to sit at the bar as we love watching the organised chaos of a busy kitchen and this was such a great experience. Our server was also super helpful and so so friendly – he was also belting out some tunes so we got a fun performance too! I’d definitely try the bocotas calamares (squid sandwich) but honestly everything is GREAT. I would say this is the ‘fanciest’ of the restaurants we visited, but still very well priced considering. €11.95 for a glass of champers is a no brainer with lunch IMO!!
The Afternoon

After a long lunch we took another walk in the city and headed to the waterfront. It was super sunny on our last day so we found a spot to sit outside for a sangria. There’s lots of shops round here so we had a little browse in those too. These are in a large shopping centre with a Time Out food hall too, so plenty too keep you occupied!
After this we had another long walk back into the city (shock)! We love walking everywhere in a new place as there’s so much to see. It was obviously time for a cocktail, so we headed to Dr. Stravinsky. This is an incredible cocktail bar that made it into the top 100 and top 50 best bars in the world (for good reason)!
Next we stopped in Bar Veni for a drink before heading back to one of our faves – La Principale for dinner. We just wanted something casual for our final night, and here is perfect for that. We’d had a fancy lunch that we’d booked in so we were quite happy to go low key. We had fries with egg and ham (SO good), padron peppers and croquettes. These were all really good – great portions, delicious food and very affordable. This was obviously accompanied by our final jug of sangria of the trip (sad face!) To end our final evening, you will not be surprised to know that we obviously had to have one last drink in Nevermind 🍻 cheers!
